Vật liệu làm máng che mưa cho cây cao su
Máng che mưa cho cây cao su thường được làm bằng xốp hoặc màng PE có độ dày 0.3mm +/- 0.02mm, Máng có dạng hình cong như hình lưỡi liềm hoặc hình chữ C cân đối, rộng từ 3.5 -4.5 cm dài hơn miệng cạo khoảng 20cm (10cm vượt mặt tiền và 10cm vượt mặt hậu)

Xác định vị trí gắn máng chắn mưa
Máng phải được gắn trên miệng cạo với độ dốc từ 30 độ đến 34 độ so với trục ngang. Đối với miệng cạo ngửa, gắn máng trên vỏ nguyên sinh cách vị trí mở miệng cạo đầu tiên khoảng 2-3 cm

Cố định máng
Trước khi cố định máng dùng dao nạo vỏ, nạo nhẹ nhàng loại bỏ lớp vỏ bần trên thân cây, ngay vị trí xác định gắn máng. Dùng kim số 10 để cố định máng trên cây cao su, khoảng cách giữa hai kim phải cách nhau ít nhất 5cm

Bôi keo
Tạo hai đường keo thẳng đứng phía ngoài cách ranh tiền và ranh hậu 5cm để ngăn nước mưa chảy vào rảnh cạo
Vì sao nên sử dụng máng che mưa cho cây cao su
Để tránh được tình trạng khai thác mủ trong điều kiện thời tiết có mưa kéo dài, gây khó khăn trong việc lấy mủ. Việc sử dụng máng chắn mưa sẽ là biện pháp tốt nhất giúp ngăn cản nước mưa chảy trực tiếp vào miệng cạo, hạn chế làm loãng mủ và làm giảm độ.
Tại các nông trường cao su đã áp dụng máng chắn mưa một cách phổ biến và hiệu quả giúp nâng cao sản lượng mủ và mủ sau khi thu hoạch đạt chất lượng hơn so với việc không sử dụng máng che.
